11 Days / 10 Nights

Day 1 - Arrival
Arrival at Juan Santamaria International Airport in San José, Costa Rica. You will be welcomed at the airport our guide will accompany you during the transfer to your hotel in San José, hotel Best Western Irazú (or similar).

Day 2 - San Jose / Tortuguero
Departure from San José. Via the Braulio Carrillo-highway you will reach the province of Limón, on the Atlantic coast. You will drive through the Braulio Carrillo national park, where you will be able to contemplate the rainforest and the beautiful 'Río Sucio'. Breakfast is en route. Once arrived at the dock, we continue our journey by boat. The boat trip will take you along the canals of the famous Tortuguero national park, also known as "the Amazon" of Costa Rica. This region abounds with rich flora and fauna. After your arrival to the Laguna Lodge hotel (or similar) and check in, you can enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, a tour to the village of Tortuguero is scheduled to visit the turtle museum and experience the locals´ way of life. Then you will have a possibility to buy some souvenirs from this special place. Return to the hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Tortuguero National Park
During the morning a boat trip through the Tortuguero-canals is programmed, to observe the diversity of wildlife that inhabits this protected area, such as monkeys, hundreds of birds and caimans. At the same time, you can admire the magnificent vegetation that characterizes this region. During the afternoon, there are plenty of optional activities of which you can choose: canopy, hiking in the Tortuguero-jungle and observation of the turtle nesting (only possible during the nesting season). Day 4 - Tortuguero National Park / Arenal Volcano
After breakfast in the hotel departure to the village of La Fortuna, situated at the foot of the Arenal-volcano. Lunch will be en route. In the afternoon you will arrive to hotel Arenal Springs (or a similar hotel).
At night and from your hotel you will be able to appreciate, if the weather allows it, the incredible volcano eruptions with lava streams and the explosions of incandescent rocks - altogether an unforgettable show of natural fireworks. (B,L)

Day 5 - Arenal Volcano
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure to explore the area. There are many optional activities offered by the hotel, we recommend a visit to Peñas Blancas where you can enjoy the landscape as well as the intrinsic sounds of the rainforest.
If you choose to spend the day on the water, you can observe several species of monkeys, iguanas, sloths, crocodiles and hundreds of birds from a boat. Also worthwhile is a visit to the waterfalls of La Fortuna, or a canopy tour in this area. We highly recommend the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge excursion, a horseback ride tour along forest trails, fishing and a visit to the Butterfly gardens. Or just relax and enjoy the facilities of your hotel while admiring the beauty of the landscape around you. (B)

Day 6 - Arenal / Monteverde
After breakfast at the hotel, departure to Arenal Lake for a boat trip through a spectacular zone, viewing beautiful landscapes, until you arrive to Río Chiquíto. Than a land transfer to hotel El Establo (or a similar hotel) is planned. Afternoon is at leisure. You might choose for an optional tour. We highly recommend a visit to the Butterfly Garden and the Serpentarium. (B)

Day 7 - Monteverde
Breakfast at the hotel (included). Day at leisure to enjoy the various activities offered in this area. We can suggest the famous Hanging Bridges-tour, which offers you amazing views over the cloud forest right from the top of the trees. Also highly recommended is a visit to the Santa Elena Biological Reserve. For the adventurers among us, a Canopy-tour could be a great alternative, to go sliding from one tree to another, only using cables high above the ground. (B)

Day 8 - Monteverde / Guanacate Beach
Breakfast at the hotel (included). At the specified hour, you will be picked up for your transfer to the coast of the North Pacific, to your 'all inclusive' Villas Sol Hotel and Beach Resort (or similar). (B,L,D)

Day 9 - Guanacate Beach
Day at leisure to enjoy your 'all inclusive' hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 10 - Guacanaste Beach / San Jose
The morning is at leisure. In the afternoon and at the specified hour you will have your transfer back to hotel Best Western Irazú (or a similar hotel). (B,L)

Day 11
Breakfast at the hotel. At the specified hour your transfer to Juan Santamaría International Airport will be arranged, for your international return flight. (B).
